Reed Society for Sacred Arts and the GWU Afghan Student Association present the Amir Vahab Ensemble for an afternoon of poetry and music. The program will begin with a short introduction on the art of Sufi sound meditation (sama) followed by the concert which will incorporate Persian poems of Hafiz and Mevlana Rumi, translated and sung for the audience with traditional instrumentation. Both a musical and educational experience, we especially invite families with children for a wonderful first introduction to the magnificent poetry of these unforgettable Sufi mystics.
