Brian moved to DC from California two years ago and fell in love with the community. Since moving here, he has helped organize events coordinated by a variety of small local organizations, including the Yaro Collective, DC Conver(t)sations, and the DC Townhall Dialogue Series. He is also a huge fan of the DC Quran Halaqa, Next Wave Muslim Initiative (NWMI), Karamah, and about a dozen other local organizations that seriously rock. Brian has graduate and undergraduate degrees from UC Berkeley and works in international development.
Pervaiz has lived in the DMV area for over two decades, almost long enough to forget that he grew up Brooklyn. Pervaiz is a familiar face at DC events, and has hosted events (and lodging) for musicians, shuyukh, scholars, comedians, and wanderers of all stripes in his own home in Falls Church. He has been active in organizing events for the community including fundraisers, spiritual gatherings and discussion groups. He also facilitates professional networking and routinely provides career counseling and mentorship to young professionals in the community.
